Our daughter the Marine

Ric and I were fortunate to "adopt" a daughter, a Marine serving in the embassy, and invited to attend her promotion from Corporal to Staff Sargeant. Megan has moved on to serve our embassy in Bulgaria.

This is a great sounding program. I didn’t know about it. It has to mean so much to the person you adopt. I was at Starbucks today. Still, every time I go in I find myself looking for you and Ric! Loony time at my home – new roof going on! Then it will be windows! Expensive summer for me!

You guys are so wonderful! I know it means a great deal for the young marines to have a family, especially so far away from home. Make sure you keep in touch with them as they go on to other duty stations!

AWESOME!! My friend “adopts” midshipmen from Annapolis too! It is so nice and makes our troops feel closer to home!
